HOW THE DAILY GAME WORKS

A guide to the Krillion Daily Dive

Krillion is a free open-answer knowledge game. Every day brings seven prompts, one short timer for each prompt, and a scoring system that rewards valid ideas beyond the first obvious response.

Seven shared prompts, written for open answers

The Daily Dive gives every player the same seven open-answer prompts for the day. A prompt asks for a member of a broad category, such as a city, food, fictional character, scientific idea, animal, invention, or work of art. There are no multiple-choice buttons. You decide on one answer, type it in your own words, and send it before the 25-second window closes.

This format tests recall and judgment rather than recognition. A correct response must belong to the category, but there can be many correct possibilities. Prompts are reviewed and materially written for Krillion, and their accepted examples are maintained as a game catalog rather than copied from a public quiz list.

Rarity tiers reward accurate, less obvious thinking

Valid answers move through six editorial rarity tiers. Familiar responses begin close to the surface, while a defensible answer that fewer players are likely to reach for can earn a deeper tier and more points. The strongest recognized tier is One in a Krillion. These tiers are game design judgments, not claims that a global survey measured the exact popularity of every response.

A useful approach is to read the whole category, notice your first impulse, and spend a few seconds looking for another answer you still trust. Specific people, regional examples, precise subtypes, and less famous works can perform well when they genuinely fit. An obscure answer that does not belong is still a miss, so accuracy comes before novelty.

Timing, hints, and result feedback

Each round previews the next prompt before opening a 25-second answer window. The Daily Dive includes one optional hint per Beijing calendar day. A hint reveals three recognized examples at different depths so you can understand the category without giving away the whole answer set. Using it does not reduce the score, but it is available only once per day.

After an answer is scored, the result panel shows the recognized response, tier, points, and a short explanation. A missed timer or unrecognized answer adds no depth. The final screen summarizes all seven rounds so you can see where familiar choices, unusual choices, and misses shaped the descent.

Private progress saved in the local browser

Krillion does not require an account. Daily completion, score history, language, sound preference, and interrupted progress are saved in local browser storage on the current device. Clearing site data, changing browsers, using private mode, or moving to another device can remove that history because it is not synchronized to a public profile.

The Dive Log lets you review locally saved Daily results after a run. It is intentionally excluded from search indexing because the contents belong to one browser and are not a stable public article. The playable landing page and this guide remain available to explain the game before you begin.

More ways to play after today’s dive

Unlimited mode turns the short daily format into a complete 100-prompt challenge with no daily lock and no hint. The themed directory offers fixed five-chapter worlds for books, movies, and basketball. Each chapter contains seven prompts and can be replayed, making themed modes useful when you want focused practice instead of the mixed Daily categories.

All current modes are free in the browser. Start with Daily when you want a short shared challenge, choose Unlimited for a longer endurance run, or select a themed world to explore one subject across multiple chapters. The navigation below every page keeps those choices, project information, privacy details, and contact options available without finishing a game first.
